As a student of Chess Magnet School, you enjoy the benefits of first-class technology, with a Java-based Training Room and a strong chess engine helping to power your progress.

The Student Training Room is highly interactive. Numerous lessons are available, complete with hints, audible cues, and automatic feedback. Some lessons use the "multiple choice" format; others ask you to select squares on the chessboard; and some require you to achieve a specific goal, such as checkmate, against the powerful built-in chess engine.

After you enter the Training Room, you can use the Chess Magnet Rating Test to estimate your chess strength. You can also view, or print, your Progress Report at any time.

You can page through the curriculum and select the topic of your choice. Or, Chess Magnet will automatically challenge you with a variety of exercises at the appropriate level of difficulty.

You can leave the Training Room at any time, and you will start in the same place when you return.
